I will be spending the next three weeks in Yellowstone National Park being taught by and learning with a very diverse and knowledge group of people. Being able to spend this much time in the park and being able to learn this way I have and hope to make some amazing discoveries.

American Dipper Nest

American Dipper nest found along the Gardner River, from what I can tell this is an older nest receiving some renovations. The outside is lined with moss which will collect moisture keeping the inside of the nest dry.

Dipper

It is appears that this American Dipper is about to take flight, in reality this is part of its courting display. I can’t be for sure but I am led to believe this is a male, this pair is still building a nest together and are probably just starting the courting display. Following his display she will then proceed to display when he has impressed her enough to keep him around.
